1. Scope
This Policy applies to the FocusBoom Chrome extension and the services that support it. FocusBoom provides contextual AI assistance for webpage content that a user actively selects, captures, or submits, including conversation, search, translation, summarization, explanation, rewriting, OCR, and image analysis.
This Policy does not apply to third-party websites that you visit or to third-party services that have their own privacy policies.
2. Information we process
Account and identity information
When you create or use an account, we may process information such as your email address, display name, internal user identifier, account status, and preferences.
Authentication information
We process credentials, verification codes, access tokens, refresh tokens, and session information as necessary to authenticate your account and protect the service. Passwords are transmitted through protected connections and should not be stored in readable form.
Content you choose to submit
To provide a requested feature, FocusBoom may process:
- text or links that you actively select or submit;
- the URL and limited context of the active webpage;
- screenshots, images, or selected screen regions;
- questions, prompts, conversation history, and generated responses; and
- documents or other content that you intentionally provide through a supported feature.
Usage and technical information
We may process feature impressions and clicks, selected actions, timestamps, error and diagnostic information, extension version, browser type, operating system, language, time zone, installation identifier, and related usage events. Our network and security systems may also process IP addresses and request metadata for delivery, abuse prevention, troubleshooting, and security.
Information we do not seek to collect
FocusBoom does not seek to collect health information, financial or payment information, or other sensitive categories as part of its ordinary purpose. Such information may appear incidentally in content that a user chooses to submit. Payment information for a Google Workspace or Chrome Web Store transaction is handled by the relevant payment provider under its own terms and is not collected through the FocusBoom extension.
3. How we use information
We use information only as reasonably necessary to:
- provide the feature or result requested by the user;
- authenticate accounts and maintain sessions;
- operate contextual actions, AI conversations, OCR, translation, and image analysis;
- maintain user settings and user-controlled personalization;
- monitor reliability, enforce usage limits, diagnose errors, and improve service quality;
- protect users, our services, and others from fraud, abuse, and security threats;
- respond to support, privacy, security, and legal requests; and
- comply with applicable law and enforce our agreements.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use or transfer user information for purposes unrelated to FocusBoom's stated purpose, and we do not use it to determine creditworthiness or for lending.
4. Chrome extension permissions

6. Data retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including providing requested features, maintaining account and security records, resolving disputes, meeting legal obligations, and preventing abuse. Retention periods vary based on the type of information, whether it is stored locally or on our systems, the sensitivity of the information, and applicable legal requirements.
Temporary screenshot assets and similar working data are designed to be cleared when they are no longer needed for the active task or under our operational retention process. Account, transaction, security, and compliance records may be retained for longer where required by law or reasonably necessary to protect the service.
You may request deletion as described below. We may retain limited records where required by law, for security, or to document compliance with a request.
7. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including access controls, transport encryption, credential protection, data minimization, and monitoring. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your choices and rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal information, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
You can also:
- choose whether to submit webpage content, screenshots, or prompts;
- change available FocusBoom settings and personalization controls;
- sign out or uninstall the extension; and
- contact us to request access, export, correction, deletion, or account closure.
To make a privacy request, email privacy@focusboom.ai. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
9. International data transfers
FocusBoom is operated from Singapore and may use service providers in other countries. Information may therefore be processed outside the country where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers and require service providers to protect information consistently with this Policy and applicable law.
10. Children
FocusBoom is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy to reflect changes to FocusBoom, our practices, or applicable law. We will post the updated Policy on this page and revise the “Last updated” date. Where required, we will provide additional notice or request consent.
